When you go through a transformational year, there’s nothing better than celebrating the new you with some BoldHER empowerment portraits.
As Tiahna approached her 27th birthday, she wanted to do a little something to celebrate the woman she was becoming. She wanted to reflect on all that she had achieved up to this point and she began to realize that she is an entirely different woman than she was, even from last year. This session symbolized a “new me” for her. She had become a woman who is confident in who she is and unapologetically herself.
What is a BoldHER portrait experience you may ask?
While I absolutely LOVE doing boudoir sessions, something that came up every once in a while over the years when I told women about what I did for a living, is they’d react with how cool that was + that they wished they had the courage to do a session, but they just weren’t sure if they were ready to do one quite yet. So that sparked an idea in my head to create the BoldHER portrait experience. I wanted to create a portrait experience that helped women embrace their uniqueness and proudly share who they are, without necessarily getting down to their undies.
It’s a portrait session OF you FOR you (not like your typical headshot which tends to be about creating images for another person such as for work or a dating website.) These uplifting lifestyle portraits are all about embracing what makes you, YOU. It’s about you being willing to share your unique quirks with the world + embracing it as your superpower so you can reclaim your inner strength and thrive as the woman you are. Sound like fun? It did for Krista!
Tiahna’s transformation into the new + bold(her) 27yo woman she dreamed of becoming.
Tiahna let me know her upbringing was far from sunshine + rainbows. She said that “Growing up I was always told who I should be and what my future should look like, I didn’t have a chance to really have dreams because they weren’t possible for me.” But that has all transformed in the last 5 years when she met her now-wife + came out all at the same time. Since then, she’s been experiencing all kinds of growth + opportunities that she never had before then. I first met her when I helped photograph their wedding, and I’m glad to be a part of this continuing journey of growth as she continues to create bigger + better things for her life.
I loved seeing this woman that described herself before the shoot as “awkward and weird” come out of her shell and embrace standing out and being herself. She killed this shoot and I’m so proud of her! Below are some of my favorites from her session. Enjoy!
