Elyse’s empowering boudoir experience in Tampa: A journey to confidence and self-love.
After years of putting it off, Elyse finally took the leap into doing a boudoir session—not just for the photos, but to reclaim her confidence and power after a heartbreaking loss. Her story is one of courage, self-worth, and transformation. If you’ve ever felt like you’re waiting for the right moment to prioritize you, her words will resonate deeply. As a Tampa boudoir photographer, I was honored to witness Elyse step into her strength—and now I get to share her inspiring story with you.

Tell me about your journey to doing a boudoir session. (Ie, What were your reasons for doing one? Have you wanted to do a session for some time? Or was this decision impulsive?)
I have been exploring the idea of doing a boudoir shoot for years but always had an excuse (time, money, body). After my husband passed away, I wanted to do something for myself—to feel empowered and confident. It seemed serendipitous that there was a model call, and I was lucky enough to be selected.
If you had wanted to do a session in the past but didn’t, what was hindering you from taking the leap?
What wasn’t hindering me! The financial investment, time investment, self-worth, body confidence, fear… the list goes on.
What was the tipping point in you finally deciding to do a session?
Realizing I only have one life to live and I need to live it for myself and no one else. It was something I always wanted to do, and the stars aligned for me to finally have my opportunity.
Why did you choose me as your photographer for your boudoir session?
After our consult call, I felt at ease- I knew it was going to be a fun, empowering experience. I was touched by your compassion and empathy to my story.
How did you feel in the days leading up to your shoot?
Excited with a bit of nervous anxiety. I am lucky to have a support group of people who hyped me up!

How would you describe the actual session experience? Did you have nerves? How did it feel to be in front of the camera?
It was so comfortable- it was like hanging out with a friend and having a fun girls’ day. I never felt like I was awkwardly in front of a camera, but rather my friend was taking pictures of me, hyping me up, and helping me look my best.
How did you feel after the shoot? And then when you saw your photos for the first time?
So excited and on cloud nine! I felt amazing and couldn’t wait to see what was captured from the day! I was blown away by the photos- it felt like I wasn’t looking at myself.
Did your boudoir experience change the way you see yourself?
Yes, it helped me gain further insight into all that I have accomplished, all my body does for me and incredibly fortunate to be where I am today. Also, the photos were so amazing I truly felt even more confident walking out of the reveal.
What would you tell someone who is still on the fence about having a session done with me?
Do it! Everyone should have this opportunity! It’s so unbelievably empowering, gives you a new sense of confidence, squashes insecurities and helps rewrite the narrative you have in your head about your appearance.
Any final thoughts you’d like to share?
Tami is amazing, and anyone would be lucky to work with her! You walk in, meeting your photographer, but leave with a new friend!
