I’m so incredibly lucky to get to photograph some of the most extraordinary women in the Tampa Bay area. One of those ladies was the gorgeous babe Becky!

A few months back, I put out a model call searching for ladies to help me promote my upcoming limited edition WET SET petit boudoir marathon and Becky decided to shoot her shot and apply. I loved what she put on her boudoir model call application about focusing on a healing journey and how she really wanted to begin focusing on seeing herself the way others see her. I felt like so many women could relate to this need + desire for a little confidence boost. I knew she’d be a perfect fit! Tell me about your journey to doing a boudoir session. (Ie, What were your reasons for doing one? Have you wanted to do a session for some time? Or was this decision impulsive?)

A boudoir shoot is something I’ve been very curious about for some time but haven’t quite had the confidence to take the leap! I’ve been navigating a healing journey over the past few years after losing a parent, battling postpartum, and transitioning to a single parent. I saw the model call and thought this is the perfect opportunity and filled out the application! I knew there was a chance I wouldn’t get chosen but was proud of myself for trying’! I was thrilled to be chosen for this empowering experience!

If you’d wanted to do a session in the past but didn’t, what was hindering you from taking the leap?

I believe a lack of confidence, price tag, and vulnerability kept me from experiencing this earlier. Tami has a great portfolio to look at, wonderful reviews, and payment options that can make the price tag less daunting.

What was the tipping point in you finally deciding to do a session?

The model call felt like this perfect opportunity! I have been focused on my mental and physical health practicing yoga and weight lifting over the past 2 years and have been falling in love with myself again. I also haven’t dated in 4 years and thought this would give me the boost to put myself out there, but most importantly serve as a reminder of all my hard work.

Why did you choose me as your photographer for your boudoir session?

I love supporting local small business owners and bass-ass women like yourself! Babes empower babes! I’ve been following you for years, read some raving reviews and really like your style/ approach.

How did you feel in the days leading up to your shoot?

How would you describe the actual session experience? Did you have nerves? How did it feel to be in front of the camera?

I felt very comfortable in front of Tami and in her studio. We had an opportunity to chat before our session and again while my makeup was being done. I’ll be honest at first I felt a little silly and embarrassed when we began but I quickly relaxed and felt at ease in front of the camera. Tami gave me great direction and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the shoot.

How did you feel after the shoot? And then when you saw your photos for the first time?

I felt very empowered and on a high almost! I felt very sexy and kept peeking at myself in the mirror. I also felt quite proud of myself! I couldn’t believe it was me when I saw the pictures and was wowed!

Did your boudoir experience change the way you see yourself?

Yes it definitely boosted my confidence and gave me a glimpse of how others may see me. I think absolutely every woman should do this for themselves! I was like “damn mama that’s you!”

What would you tell someone who is still on the fence about having a session done with me?

Stop overthinking and take the leap! It is absolutely worth the time and investment! Every woman deserves to feel like a thousand bucks! We juggle so much on a daily basis, wearing many hats and never taking the time for ourselves; we all need this experience!

Any final thoughts you’d like to share?

Thank you for choosing me and for this fabulous shoot! I looooove my Emerald velvet album with the gold edges; the outside looks as sexy as its contents! I’m so grateful for the experience and the beautiful reminder!
