It’s time for another round of client interviews with my gorgeous boudoir client Jessica. We did her boudoir photography session in my home studio in St. Petersburg, FL.

Jess and I first connected back in 2014 right after I moved here when I did a family portrait session with her. We’ve stayed connected over the years on Facebook and then when I launched a boudoir model call wanting to help ALL women embrace their beauty, whatever shape, size, color, or ethnicity, it really spoke to her and she knew she was finally ready to have a session like that for herself. I was so excited to see her application and I knew she’d be a perfect fit! So without further ado, read up below to see what Jessica has to say about her boudoir experience. Tell me about your journey to doing a boudoir session. (Ie, What were your reasons for doing one? Have you wanted to do a session for some time? Or was this decision impulsive?)

Over the last handful of years, my confidence has dwindled and I’ve really needed something to give me a renewed sense of confidence. I’ve always been so intrigued by boudoir photo shoots, I think they are beautiful pieces of artwork.

If you’d wanted to do a session in the past but didn’t, what was hindering you from taking the leap?

I hadn’t done it in the past cause I felt I needed to do it as a present for my significant other and I had been single for a long time so that wasn’t an option for me.

What was the tipping point in you finally deciding to do a session?

Tami’s post for a chance to be selected for a boudoir model call really pushed me to submit myself. I had just gotten out of a toxic relationship and this shoot was exactly what I needed.

Why did you choose me as your photographer for your boudoir session?

You had done a family photo shoot for me years back and I’ve followed your work since and the photos you share are always so beautiful.

How did you feel in the days leading up to your shoot?

I was super excited and anxious but it was great being able to communicate with you in the days leading up to it.

How would you describe the actual session experience? Did you have nerves? How did it feel to be in front of the camera?

Your home was so inviting and so are you as a person that I was not nervous at all. I felt just excited and relaxed actually. You made me super comfortable in front of the camera, your posing and your tips/instructions were so great.

How did you feel after the shoot? And then when you saw your photos for the first time?

I felt great and super excited to see the final product. I was so happy and shocked when I saw the photos for the first time because I can be self-critical, I thought for sure I wasn’t going to like any of the pictures buttttt they were ALL so amazing. It was so hard for me to choose which ones I wanted.

Did your boudoir experience change the way you see yourself?

I definitely, definitely felt more confident after seeing the photos!

What would you tell someone who is still on the fence about having a session done with me?

JUST DO IT!! You will not have any regrets. Us women need to be better about celebrating and embracing our bodies for how they are. I absolutely love having wall art of myself in my room, just a confidence boost!
