Probably one of the top compliments that I get when I have a call with an inquiring client and I ask them what made my boudoir photography work stand out to them is that they always say my images just feel so classy + elegant. And that’s what they want for their photo shoot.
This is such a huge compliment to me. When I photograph women for a boudoir shoot my biggest goal is for them to have imagery that makes them feel sexy + beautiful, but I also want them to feel strong + feminine in the classiest way possible. These are NOT meant to be raunchy photos for their male counterparts (although it is often a gift for their partners – as this particular session was), it’s a shoot about feeling powerful + elegant for the woman in the most tasteful way possible. I want women to be proud to share these images with their friends + maybe even their daughters. So while we can have a little bit of edge + sexiness to photos, they will always fall in line with being tasteful + refined.
For this particular boudoir experience for Ms. M, we did her session at one of my favorite boutique hotels in downtown St Petersburg, FL – The Birchwood Inn. It’s the epitome of class – with velvet wingback chairs, a canopy bed, and a clawfoot tub. It makes for such an elegant experience! She did her session as a gift for herself but also as a gift for her hubby for their anniversary, so after her shoot, they enjoyed the room and an evening out in downtown St Pete.
