More + more of the inquiries I get these days are all telling me they like my moody boudoir style.
And this makes me so happy! While I think the light + airy style is also gorgeous, when it comes to doing a boudoir shoot I’m just a sucker for all the moodiness + shadows. I think that this style, where I expose for the highlights in my camera and then let the shadows drop off into the darkness, allows there to be more left up to the viewer’s imagination with the images. I’m also told frequently that women think that my boudoir photography seems very classy + elegant and I think this style lends to that (aka, it’s not crazy raunchy or gaudy like others you might find out there on the interwebs). I consider my style to be a bit more lifestyle + organic and I think that working with the shadows + light lends itself to creating that mood that my clients love so much! I also think a lot of women find it more flattering. I mean how many of us really love looking at ourselves in full-on bright or harsh lights. Haha.
For this session, my client had a room that was facing inward toward a kind of atrium area that didn’t get as much light. But we made it work! (And we can make it work with other low-light settings too…as long as I have a window with some natural light coming through it!) And honestly, this session was definitely a favorite of mine…I mean, Miss K was rocking all the pieces that she brought to her session! But without further ado, here are some of our favorites from this Miss K’s moody St Pete boudoir session!
