I knew it from the moment Hunter first contacted me to photograph their Rainbow River wedding that it was going to be absolutely magical.
You see, the weekend before I received her wedding inquiry, I had been given the hard news that my pilot had canceled our charter flight to the wedding I was supposed to photograph on the island of Abaco in the Bahamas due to Hurricane Dorian + they had moved up the wedding a few days to celebrate with the people already there so they could then pack up and leave the next day. They no longer needed my services. I am so thankful they did get out of there though because Cat 5 Dorian destroyed the island just days later. Unfortunately, for me, I didn’t get to photograph this beautiful island wedding that I’d been looking forward to all year long, so I was completely gutted. But then just a few days later, I got a little ding in my inbox and there was Hunter’s inquiry. Their photographer wasn’t able to shoot their wedding anymore and now they needed a new one for their celebration that was just a month away. Seriously, it was destiny for us and the rest was magical history!
Hunter + Nicky’s wedding was held on private property overlooking the beautiful Rainbow River. This wedding included the bride riding in on a horse, a stunning Filipino cord ceremony in honor of the groom’s heritage, lots of ridiculously fun friends and family (that wore “whatever makes you feel like a magical being” – in accordance to the couple’s wishes), lots of crystals, and the cherry on top was a full moon. They even did a small ceremony to bid their favorite pup farewell into the magical waters of the river. If I hadn’t had to drive 2 hours back home after a full day, I most definitely would have stayed well past my cut off time because it was seriously one of the most fun celebrations I’ve documented to date! Below are some of my favorites from this couple’s enchanting day. Enjoy!
