Sometimes all you need for your wedding day is you + your boo and a few of your closest friends + family there to celebrate with you. This is why I love the idea of an intimate courthouse wedding.
The lovely Kristen + Stephen decided this was exactly what they wanted to do for their special day this past spring. Kristen had been referred to my by a past wedding couple of mine – Emily + Tony – and she fell in love with their images and knew she wanted me to document their intimate downtown courthouse elopement. With Stephen serving our country in the Navy, they knew that they wanted to tie the knot before they received new orders so their wedding planning happened relatively quickly. And honestly it couldn’t have worked out more perfectly as they tied the knot right before the world shut down with the pandemic.
This sweet pair decided to get ready at the Hilton Tampa Downtown where Kristen had one of my favorite hair + makeup gals – Denise Burkle glamming her up as a beautiful bride. I loved documenting Kristen and both her bestie and her mama’s as they enjoyed some last minute pizza and girl talk before she stepped into her dress. We then headed to the Tampa Riverwalk where Stephen got his first look at his beautiful bride. First looks are my absolute favorite and is such a wonderful moment between couples before their ceremony. We then took a short walk with the entire group of 8 to the Hillsborough County Courthouse to get these two married! After they made it official, we wandered around downtown and took all the beautiful photos of the newlyweds and their family! There may have been some FaceTiming with friends and rooftop popping of some Dom Perignon as well! These small weddings are always so perfect to me…all the happy people without the stress of a large wedding day!
Congrats to Kristen + Stephen! Hopefully you will eventually get to on on that honeymoon that got postponed with the pandemic! 😉 Enjoy some of my favorites from their breathtaking courthouse elopement below.
