Boudoir Client Interview | Session with Melissa

In this 5th edition of the boudoir client interview, we are chatting with the babe-a-licious mama, Melissa.

This babe was quick to admit that, like most moms out there, she didn’t always put herself first. Her littles always came first. But she wanted to do a boudoir photoshoots to remind herself that she’s just as beautiful post-baby.  So without further ado, read up below to see what Melissa has to say about her boudoir experience where she allowed herself to be reminded that she is more than just a mama (And be sure to also check out my other boudoir interviews here!)

Tell me about your journey to doing a boudoir session. (Ie, What were your reasons for doing one? Have you wanted to do a session for some time? Or was this decision impulsive?)

We did my shoot around my 31st birthday. I wanted to do one for my 30th, but never found time to commit. I decided to do a shoot for myself after I’ve had two babies. I wanted to celebrate my post-baby body because I knew I could still be sexy even as a mom.

If you’d wanted to do a session in the past but didn’t, what was hindering you from taking the leap?

Finding time and energy to devote to something for myself.

What was the tipping point in you finally deciding to do a session?

Coming up to my 31st birthday, I knew it was now or never and I would regret it later on.

Why did you choose me as your photographer for your boudoir session?

Loved your style and simple approach to a woman’s body

How did you feel in the days leading up to your shoot?

Very nervous! As a Mom, I typically put myself last, especially my appearance. So devoting a few hours for myself was a huge step.

How would you describe the actual session experience? Did you have nerves? How did it feel to be in front of the camera?

It was awesome! Tami did a great job of making me feel comfortable and relaxed in the setting. I felt like myself and not someone else, which really made me enjoy the experience and the photos afterwards.

How did you feel after the shoot? And then when you saw your photos for the first time?

Super excited! As this was a gift to myself (the experience, but photos for my husband), I was excited to see the outcome. Not all Moms have to be run down all the time!

Did your boudoir experience change the way you see yourself?

Totally! It allowed me to still feel attractive and as a woman, not just a mom.

What would you tell someone that was still on the fence about having a session done with me?

Just do it! You won’t regret it.
